LMLA welcomes the official launch of "Credit Data Smart"
 
The Hong Kong Association of Banks, the Hong Kong Association of Restricted Licence Banks and Deposit-taking Companies, and the Hong Kong S.A.R. Licensed Money Lenders Association Limited (collectively known as the Industry Associations) are delighted to announce that “Credit Data Smart” has officially been launched to the public on April 26, 2024.
 
Following the launch of “Credit Data Smart”, we can strengthen the protection and use of personal data and establish dedicated teams to monitor the operations of Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs). This will help ensure the security and privacy protection of personal data while promoting the development of financial technology in Hong Kong. We believe that the launch of the “Credit Data Smart” is a major milestone in the development of consumer credit data services in Hong Kong.
 
“Credit Data Smart” has successfully completed its pilot program and is now officially providing secure and reliable consumer credit reference services to the public. We sincerely appreciate the efforts of Platform Operators, Business Operators, Credit Reference Agencies (CRAs), and other stakeholders in achieving the realization of “Credit Data Smart”. We look forward to seeing “Credit Data Smart” strengthen market competition and provide secure and reliable personal credit reference services to the public.
